Description
Feeding area: small container with a screw-on lid. It features a hole with a diameter of 0.5 cm.
One risk when feeding our colonies is that a piece of food placed in the foraging box might be too large; the ants could drag it into the formicarium, where it might rot and contaminate the chambers. This feeding zone allows us to provide a wide variety of foods (insects, meat, fruit, chicken, ham, etc.) while avoiding that risk; since the food cannot be removed from the box through the small opening, the ants are forced to feed within the designated zone. It also allows for the introduction of live insects into the feeding zone, thereby aiding the colony’s hunting process and reducing stress.
Its small size makes it compatible with almost any foraging box, thereby making it easier to feed our colonies. Once the ants have finished eating, it can be removed from the foraging box and cleaned very easily.
Measurements: 2.8 cm high. 2.5cm diameter
